The BPP Helps Win Back The Consumer
A recent article in RISMedia – “MLS Basic Service: How the Broker Public Portal Helps You Win Back the Consumer” – highlights how the BPP can help reach and deliver value to consumers in your market.
The article explains how the average MLS can’t compete against Zillow or other ad portals in their own city, and that partnering with the BPP to deliver a public-facing website solution is the clear winning strategy.
How can the BPP help?
— Your listings appear in Homesnap, the top-rated national app and website that provides real-time MLS information and serves as the best alternative to Zillow for the consumer.
— Homesnap can create a local branded public-facing website at no additional cost for MLSs who partner with the BPP.
— Only Homesnap supports Fair Display Guidelines that follow Your Listing, Your Lead, ensuring that other agent ads do not appear on listings.
— Brokers in BPP markets get the top-rated mobile real estate app, Homesnap Pro, complete with their branding.
— Agents get individual branding and Homesnap Pro, the top productivity tool on the market.
— The BPP is owned by the industry—real estate brokerages and MLSs—who have collaborated to enact business rules that ensure that the BPP works for the MLS and its members, not against them.

Small MLSs Find Big Value In The BPP
The BPP has added significant value to large MLSs across the country including MRED, Bright MLS, and CRMLS, but how is it faring with small MLSs? If the past month is an indicator, very well.’
Martha’s Vineyard MLS (150 agents) and Berkshire MLS (300 agents) are recent additions to the BPP, and currently over 20 more small markets are reviewing proposals.
“As we look to create value among members as a start-up MLS trying to gain market share, we saw the Broker Public Portal as a way to drive more value, benefit, and ultimately, leads for belonging to the Martha’s Vineyard Multiple Listing Service (MVMLS),” said Ryan Castle, CEO of MVMLS.
