elevateMLS did not just launch a new MLS consumer website for the greater Colorado Springs area. It joined a network. On October 20, 2026, elevateMLS.com went live in the Pikes Peak region as a consumer home search site that sends buyers and sellers straight to MLS listings and straight to the listing agent and firm. That single site matters. The model behind it matters more. Individual MLSs can build a local consumer front door, and when many of them connect those doors to a shared national hub, they create a consumer reach that no single MLS could build alone while keeping control of their own data and their own brand.
The Problem the Network Solves
For two decades, consumers have searched for homes on portals that were built to sell advertising and capture leads. The listing data originates with the MLS and the broker, but it reaches the consumer late, filtered, and surrounded by placements sold to the highest bidder. Every inquiry is a transaction in someone else's marketplace. The organizations that do the hard work of maintaining accurate, current listing data have ceded the relationship with the home shopper to companies that do not share their interests.
The MLS is uniquely positioned to reverse that. It holds the data, it sets the rules, and it has the trust of the brokers who feed it. What it has lacked is a consumer platform that can operate at scale without requiring each MLS to build and maintain its own technology stack.
Owned and Governed by the Industry It Serves
Broker Public Portal (BPP) was founded in 2014 and is owned and governed by the brokers and MLSs that make up its network. That structure is the foundation of the model. The platform does not answer to outside investors seeking a return from consumer lead sales. It answers to the organized real estate industry that supplies the listings, maintains the data, and serves the consumer. When the network makes a decision about how the platform works, the people making it are the brokers and MLSs whose listings and clients are at stake.
That governance is what allows an MLS to join without surrendering its identity or its data. It is also what makes the network credible to brokers who have watched outside portals change the rules after winning their trust.
The Hub and Spoke Model
Broker Public Portal has organized the answer as a hub and spoke network.
The hub is Cribio.com. It is the national consumer property search site of the BPP network. It serves 419,000 real estate agents through MLS partnerships and gives the network a national presence, a shared technology platform, and a consistent consumer experience. The hub carries listings from every participating MLS, which means a buyer searching nationally sees the full breadth of the network's inventory.
The spokes are the local MLS sites. elevateMLS.com is one. Each spoke runs under its own brand, on its own data, and in its own market. The MLS sets the rules for how its listings are displayed, maintains the data at the source, and owns the relationship with the local consumer. The spoke carries the community knowledge, the local agent directory, and the market context that a national site cannot provide on its own.
The value flows in both directions. Through the BPP network, elevateMLS listings appear on Cribio.com and on partner MLS sites. Each spoke extends the hub's reach, and the hub extends the spoke's visibility beyond its own geography. An MLS that joins the network does not trade its identity for national scale. It keeps its local presence and gains a national channel it could not afford to build on its own.
Where the Value Is Created
The network creates value on three fronts, and each one has a direct consequence for brokerage profitability and MLS relevance.
Direct access to listings. When an agent changes a status, a price or a photo, the change appears on the MLS-owned site as soon as it is posted. The consumer sees the market as it is, not as an aggregator's version of it. Accuracy at the source is the MLS's core product, and the spoke delivers that product to the consumer without distortion.
Direct contact to the listing agent and firm. On elevateMLS.com, every question about a property goes to the listing agent. Nothing is routed to a lead buyer, and no advertiser stands between the consumer and the professional who holds the listing. For brokerages, this means a qualified inquiry reaches the firm that controls the listing, with the transaction value intact. For the MLS, it means the consumer relationship sits where it belongs.
Local professional visibility. The elevateMLS.com agent directory lets consumers find an agent by name, office or area. A filter for Military Relocation Professional (MRP) certification serves the Colorado Springs market, where military families arrive on orders with hard deadlines and no local network. Brokerages with the right people in the right markets gain visibility the national portals rarely provide.
What the Network Makes Possible
A single MLS site is a product. A network of MLS sites is a strategy. Consider what happens as more markets join. A family leaving one military installation for another can start a search on one MLS-owned site and continue on another, with the same data standards, the same consumer experience, and the same direct connection to a local professional. Dan Troup, CEO of Broker Public Portal, described that ambition: a home search that connects across markets, so that a move does not require starting over with an unfamiliar portal.
That kind of continuity is something no proprietary portal can offer. It depends on MLSs choosing to share a platform while keeping control of their data, and on brokers governing the platform that carries their listings. The network makes the shared platform practical, and the broker and MLS ownership makes it trustworthy.
elevateMLS has taken the first step in Colorado, and it has done so on terms that protect the brokers and MLSs who built the listing system. The network is open to any MLS that wants a consumer presence of its own, inside an organization its peers help govern.
