HISTORY OF THE BPP
For over a decade, real estate professionals accepted the emergence of online search sites operated by advertising companies. At the time, many agents believed that they had no choice but to spend their money advertising on third-party sites because there were no other viable options.
In 2014, a group of real estate industry visionaries set out to create a better and more accurate alternative to the large listing portals. Brokerage firms representing 300,000 agents and MLSs with 350,000 subscribers launched an effort to develop and manage a new consumer-facing website. The collaboration was born, and brokerage firms and MLSs contributed funding to develop the Broker Public Portal.
