Finding A Home Gets Simpler in Mid-Michigan as REALTORS® Launch Plain-Language Smart Search

New Smart Search on lansing-realestate.com turns plain-language requests into matching MLS listings, in more than 50 languages and on any phone

LANSING, Mich., October 29th, 2026— Home shoppers in Mid-Michigan can now find homes by describing what they want in their own words. The Greater Lansing Association of REALTORS® (GLAR) today introduced Smart Search on lansing-realestate.com, a feature that turns a plain-language request into matching listings from the Multiple Listing Service (MLS), the most accurate and current source of property data in Mid-Michigan.

Site is live at https://lansing-realestate.com

Home sellers also benefit: listings will flow to the Cribio.com, a national home search website powered by Multiple Listing Services across America, where they will be searchable across 537 real estate markets in 24 states. That reach extends exposure to home shoppers, including those relocating to the Greater Lansing area.

Instead of working through long lists of checkboxes, a buyer can type “a three-bedroom home under $300,000 with a fireplace and an attached garage,” and see listings that match those details. When a home catches their eye, buyers can contact the listing agent directly with questions.

“Finding a home starts with describing what matters to you,” said Meghan Webber, CEO of the Greater Lansing Association of REALTORS®. “Smart Search lets buyers do exactly that. They describe the home they want, and the site matches it to accurate, current listings from the MLS. It is a simpler way to start the search, and it keeps buyers connected to the REALTORS® who help them get to the closing table.”

How Smart Search helps buyers

•       Describe it, don’t filter it: Buyers search the way they think, with requests like “near Lake Lansing” or “walking distance to Michigan State.”

•       Combine what matters most: Bedrooms, price, and features work together in a single request, and results can be viewed on a map relative to work or school.

•       Search by lifestyle: Buyers can narrow results by architectural style, fenced yards, new listings, price reductions, and open houses this weekend.

•       Search in their own language: Smart Search understands descriptions in more than 50 languages.

•       Search from anywhere: The full experience works on a phone.

•       Go straight to the source: Buyers can contact the listing agent directly about any property.

“Accurate data only helps buyers when they can find what they are looking for,” Webber said. “Smart Search makes MLS listings easier to search, and Cribio.com puts Mid-Michigan sellers in front of a far wider pool of buyers.”
